I have no fashion sense. Help me out?
I am a 19 year old girl who knows nothing about fashion or style. I always look rather boring and plain. I read the fashion magazines for tips and ideas, and always see things I like, but I don't have the fashion know-how to put together stylish outfits. The only stylish things I own are cute flats (I have them in almost every color) and a really cool plaid scarf. Other than that, I'm at a loss. Christmas is coming soon and I was thinking of asking for new clothes. What should I ask for? I'm trying to go for a vintage but edgy kind of look. Thanks to everyone who answers! : )
at times all it takes is a day trip with a girl friend or mom to a local mall and just literally trying on clothes to develop that style..or bring it out of you gal...and whether it bought from local thrift stores look for some keep pins or brooches to accesorise your out fit may help..also what may help is ask around to see if any one gives color anylasis so you know what color type you are whether spring ,summer,fall,etc..the colors you choose may help!! hope this helps.. good luck... also have you ever had a make over as well call a local beauty school and make a appointment for a simple make up make over..may also help..in bringing out your best features... i know we all have this problem if only we came with a fashion expert by are side..
Will I look like a lesbian if I wear plaid?
I LOVE plaid shirts.. i want to buy a vintage plaid shirt, but I am a FTM.. so I don't want to look like a lesbian, I want to look like a guy

I think that plaid is a very manly pattern, which is why you may associate it with lesbianism. It all depends on if you pass as male usually to strangers. If you do, you won't look like a lesbian. Maybe more like Al from Home Improvement, but that's a good thing IMO. If you're close to passing but more ambiguous, you may look like a female lesbian. But of course, other factors like the rest of your wardrobe will change that as well. My advice is to get the shirt, there's more factors for it than against it.
